
About Bitola, one of the towns in the world with the greatest number of songs written to be praised in, there are a lot of literature works - monographs, novels, a thousand of poems… People in Bitola, proud of their ancestry, it does not matter where they were taken away by fate, have always described their town with the most beautiful epithets as the most prettiest town, town of pianos, town of consuls… About the history of the town, the Town Clock, the mosques, the churches, Shirok Sokak
(Main Street), the Old Bazaar, old people as well as young ones talk with pleasure and some tears in their eyes, fascinated of the specific way of life in this old, Macedonian town.
This mini monograph is a part of the project " Memorials of the Culture from the
Ottoman Period in Bitola and Surroundings of the Macedonian - Turkish Association "Mustafa Kemal Ataturk" - Bitola and it is the first written in Macedonian, Turkish and English. In it, the main accent is put on the preserved objects built in the time of the Ottoman Empire and later proclaimed as the memorials of culture. Also, you will have a chance to read the short history of Bitola as well as the latest statistical data about the town on the foot of the mountain Pelister.
